On October 17th, 2025 we closed the doors for the last time.
This chapter of our lives has been challenging, rewarding, and impactful. Within the walls of Cool Clouds there was comradery and courage. Everyone was on their own journey, but mostly we just didn't want to smoke cigarettes anymore. The successes that were forged were huge. The friendships that were discovered, are irreplaceable.
On 9/10/2025, the FDA raided Midwest Goods in Bensenville with tanks and guns. They held a cutesy press conference touting how they were taking dangerous vapes off the streets so they could not harm children. We knew something was afoot.
On 9/30/2025 the FDA stated that they would be mailing letters to retailers with the list of the 39 vapes and 20 nicotine pouch products that can be legally marketed in the United States. They further stated " The purpose of this initiative is to help retailers better understand relevant laws and regulations, removing any excuses for noncompliance."
We know that the FDA is able to hand out civil money penalties to the tune of $21,000 at a drop of a hat. This list from the FDA also allows Illinois to prosecute retailers for sale of products that are not on the list (after they confiscate everything).
We thank you for all the calls you made, emails you sent, and truth you spread. There is more of that work to be done, and we will continue to fight for the availability of these products.

Cool Clouds Vapor Shop opened in Evergreen Park in 2014. As a longtime smoker Reid saw Cool Clouds as a place for people to get the education and products they need to help them to successfully switch from cigarettes to vaping. Since inception our goals have been to provide quality products at reasonable prices and offer the best customer experience possible. We focus on our customer's goals and offer troubleshooting, advice, and a circle of support to those who are looking to quit smoking combustible cigarettes. We offer a variety of products that cater to the beginner and the advanced hobbyist vaper. In recent years Cool Clouds has expanded their offerings to offer CBD and recreational accessories.
